DoloMatrix International Limited provides unique solutions for the cost effective treatment and destruction of hazardous wastes, together with contaminated site remediation technologies. DoloMatrix has developed and owns the worldwide intellectual property rights to the Dolocrete® Micro-encapsulation Technology. The flexibility of this technology allows it to be tailored to each customer's needs, yet robust to meet the world's most stringent environmental standards. The Dolocrete® Technology Dolocrete® is a magnesium oxide-based binder prepared to a patented process from very high magnesium carbonate content dolomite or magnesite material. Depending on the waste material, a selection of proprietary catalysts can be used to facilitate the formation of chemical bonds in a mineral matrix. The treatment process involves the mixing of the waste material with a purpose formulated blend of Dolocrete® in commercially available mixing equipment. This results in the homogenous mixing action required to successfully blend the Dolocrete® reagents with the waste in the process immobilizing the contaminants of concern. BCD and Plascon®: Through one of the DoloMatrix subsidiaries, BCD Technologies, DoloMatrix Environmental Solutions now operates licensed facilities in Queensland and Victoria for the destruction of toxic wastes contaminated with Persistent Organic Pollutants, (commonly referred to as carcinogens,) substances known to cause cancer. BCD Technologies has provided hazardous waste destruction services to industry and government in Australia for more than 20 years. The DoloMatrix facility located in Tottenham, Melbourne, is the only licensed facility in Australia for the destruction of Ozone Depleting Substances. These substances are so named because of their direct result in depleting the ozone layer resulting in global warming and climate change. The combination of BCD and the patented "state of the art" PLASCON® electric arc technology process with the Dolocrete® Micro-encapsulation Technology has provided DoloMatrix with significantly increased capacity to treat a wide range of hazardous materials, from solids through to gaseous and liquid wastes. It has also significantly increased DoloMatrix’ ability to treat and/or destroy a much wider range of contaminants including, Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) as well as cancer causing Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP's) such as Dioxins, Furans, DDT, Dieldrin, Heptachlor and Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB's). Chemsal Chemsal was established in Victoria, Australia in 1981 as a specialist supplier of chemicals and waste management services. Chemsal is a member of the DoloMatrix group of Companies. On inception the principle service offered was the trading of chemicals, whereby clients were able to buy and sell surplus raw materials chemical stocks on a national basis. Since incorporation, Chemsal has expanded to include a full range of waste management services including collection, storage, treatment, recycling, disposal and resource recovery. Chemsal’s head office and main operations centre is located in Laverton North, Victoria. The company commenced operations in Sydney New South Wales in 1998 and moved to a new EPA licensed facility in St Marys in 2007. Chemsal is licensed to transport waste in all states of Australia. Operations: Chemsal currently processes the following waste streams: · Paint related items, including flammable, non-flammable and water based paints and paint tins; · Solvents including hydrocarbons (flammable), chlorinated hydrocarbons, aqueous hydrocarbon mixtures; · pesticide liquids & solids (including organochlorine); · wash waters and sludges, oily waters, oil; · laboratory chemicals; · pharmaceutical products; · gas cylinders; · low level radioactive waste; · lamps and fluorescent tubes; · chemical residue containers both plastic and steel; - Oil filters - Aerosols - PCB (Polychlorinated biphenyls) - Batteries - Photographic wastes |
