DoloMatrix International (DMX) announced on May 22nd, 2008,  the sale of a second PLASCON® waste destruction plant to Quimobasicos in Mexico.

This follows the announcement on 3 April 2008 of the sale of a PLASCON® plant to Honeywell Inc. of the USA.

The plant, which will be located at Quimobasicos’ facility in Monterrey Mexico, will be used to destroy greenhouse gases. Quimobasicos currently has one operating PLASCON® unit acquired in 2006. The expansion of its operations has led to the requirement of the second machine.

The new plant is scheduled for deployment in July and is pictured to the right undergoing Factory Accptance Testing prior to embarcation for Mexico.

John White, Managing Director of DoloMatrix, said: “This is further continuation of the high level of interest in DoloMatrix’s market leading technologies as companies seek solutions to meet their cleaner environment targets.”

DMX will supply, install and commission the new Mexican plant.

Sergio Garcia, Director of Quimobasicos said: “Following the installation of the second Plascon unit the company estimates the capture and destruction of sufficient HFC23 gas to reach the equivalent of 2.5 million tones of CO2 per year”.

ABOUT DMX’s PLASCON® TECHNOLOGY

PLASCON® waste destruction plants eliminate a wide variety of concentrated organic waste types such as PCB’s, pesticides, ozone depleting substances such as CFCs, HFCs, as well as other greenhouse gases, refrigerants and halons.

Waste treatment can be either in-process or from a stockpiled feedstock, with a throughput of up to 3 tonnes of waste per day. In the case of Refrigerant gasses that can equate to 11,700 tonnes equivalent per tonne of CO2 destroyed, allowing for the claiming of substantial carbon credits where permitted.

PLASCON® uses plasma technology, rather than high temperature incineration to ensure clean, safe, waste destruction. Destruction efficiencies can exceed 99.9999%, and emissions to the atmosphere are substantially lower than international standards, and no toxicresidues are generated.
